Plan of Salvation
If you are not sure that you are on your way to Heaven, then be sure to read the following paragraph. Everything said in this plan comes from the Bible. This is not a Baptist religion or a work that will take you to Heaven, it is a way to show you that the only way to Heaven is by grace through faith; plus nothing, minus nothing. Please take the time to read these next few sentences.
I John 5:13- "These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life." The Bible clearly states that you CAN KNOW that you have eternal life. It does not matter what anyone else says, it is possible to be sure of your salvation. Here is the common four step plan of salvation:
STEP ONE- YOU MUST REALIZE THAT YOU ARE A SINNER: Every One is a sinner. You have committed a sin some time in your life along with everyone else on this earth. It does not matter how bad your sin was, whether it was a "white" lie or first degree murder, you sinned. Romans 3:23- "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God."
STEP TWO- BECAUSE YOU HAVE SINNED, YOU DESERVE DEATH IN HELL FOR EVER: Romans 6:23- "...For the wages of sin is death." Revelations 20:14-15- "And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire." No matter how many good works you have done in your life, you will never work your way to Heaven. Isaiah 64:6- "But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away." Righteousness is good works, and our good works are no good: Titus 3:5- "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;". Death in Hell is no happy place either, and you will not be partying with your friends down there. Luke 13:27-28- "But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out."
STEP THREE- REALIZE THAT JESUS CHRIST PAID FOR THE PRICE OF YOUR SINS ON THE CROSS: Romans 5:8- "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Because Jesus died for our sins on the cross and rose again the third day, we can live in Heaven. Because he came to earth and lived a perfect life and gave his blood for our sins, He was able to pay our sin debt in hell.
STEP FOUR- PLACE YOUR FAITH IN CHRIST TO TAKE YOU TO HEAVEN: You must believe that you have sinned and because of that sin, you deserve an eternal death in hell (no matter how bad or good you have been), but Jesus paid the price of you sin and you now have a chance to be God's child. All you have to do is believe in Christ and ask him to forgive your sins and take you to Heaven when you die. Romans 10:13- "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." If you have trouble trying to figure out what to pray here is a simple prayer that you can pray to Jesus: "Lord, Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and I deserve to go to hell when I die. I pray that you forgive my sins and I place my trust in you to take me to Heaven when I die. Amen." It does not matter if you said those words exactly, but you need the main parts, and if you truly believe what you said you will go to Heaven when you die. You cannot lose your salvation, that is why God calls it "eternal life."
