This Page was built as a haven for young men to come and get preaching resources, to communicate, and build upon their walk with God. You can find information here that should be considered invaluable to any preacher boy. Knowledge is very important in fighting a war against Satan and the world, but you must have accurate information and you must use it in the right way. This sight was built for you to get that information and teach you to use that information for the right purpose. I really hope that you enjoy this site.

How Righteous are you?

Many times have I seen a Christian friend walk up to another Christian that is perhaps not quite as spiritually grown as he and try to slam Bible verses down his throat proving that God hates his "not so great convictions" with a passion. Where in the Bible did Jesus Christ walk up to a young untaught Christian and start quoting scripture about his horrible cussing, or his horrible music, or his wrong bible version, etc., etc... Jesus Christ set an example to us as Christians the way that we should teach others. If you see a sincere Christian that is trying to grow but does not have the advanced convictions that you may have, you should not try to forcibly reason your convictions to him. It is one thing if that person asks, but it is another if you bring up the subject.

Sometimes it is possible to lose young converts due to us trying to make him/her grow too fast. Just like someone used to darkness, you must not turn the light on full blast with his eyes open or he might go blind. We should not try to blind young converts by shining our million watt righteousness in their eyes.

Now I am not saying that we should not try to help them grow, but when we start Bible-izing people, they tend to get irritated, not tender. If someone came up to me and started quoting scripture on something they think I am doing wrong, then I will tend to ignore them and blow them off, especially if they were my piers. Now if a pastor came to me and sincerely brought the Word to me and with pleasant words showed me something that he thought I was doing wrong, then I would listen.

We must also realize that the Holy Spirit works with people differently at different times. Some people have convictions concerning TV or music that other people don’t. That does not make one right and the other wrong and it does not make one more holy and the other any less. If God wants us to change our conviction to a certain standard then the Holy Ghost will convict us separately. God may have us convicted on one thing because maybe we are weaker to one form of temptation through that thing than another person is. He might also just be testing us to see what we are willing to give up for him. We must be careful not to anger someone due to our super holiness.

13 Resolutions to Live By
By Jonathan Edwards

Being sensible that I am unable to do anything without God's help, I do humbly entreat Him, by His grace, to enable me to keep these Resolutions, so far as they are agreeable to His will, for Christ's sake.

[I will] remember to read over these Resolutions once a week.

1. Resolved, That I will do whatsoever I think to be most to the glory of God, and my own good, profit, and pleasure, in the whole of my duration; without any consideration of the time, whether now, or never so many myriads of ages hence, Resolved, to do whatever I think to be my duty, and most for the good and advantage of mankind in general.

2. Resolved, Never to lose one moment of time, but to improve it in the most profitable way I possibly can.

3. Resolved, to live with all my might, while I do live.

4. Resolved, Never to do anything, which I would be afraid to do if it were the last hour of my life.

5. Resolved, Never to do anything out of revenge.

6. Resolved, Never to speak evil of anyone, so that it shall tend to his dishonour, more or less, upon no account except for some real good.

7. Resolved, To study the Scripture so steadily ,constantly, and frequently, as that I may find, and plainly perceive, myself to grow in the knowledge of the same.

8. Resolved, Never to count that a prayer, nor to let that pass as a prayer, nor that as a petition of prayer, which is so made, that I cannot hope that God will answer it; nor that as a confession which I cannot hope God will accept.

9. Resolved, To ask myself, at the end of every day, week, month, and year, wherein I could possibly, in any respect have done better.

10. Resolved, Never to give over, nor in the least to slacken, my fight with my corruptions, however unsuccessful I may be.

11. Resolved, After afflictions, to inquire, what I am the better for them; what good I have got by them; and, what I might have got by them.

12. Resolved, Always to do that, which I shall wish I had done when I see others do it.

13. Let there be something of benevolence in all that I speak.
